The latest 2018 release from Anthony Ross Costanzo, the wonderful countertenor who performs with Ebizo Ichikawa, is now available. The New York Times raved, "Anthony Ross Costanzo is changing opera" and "brilliant, dramatic, and fearless!" Countertenor singer Anthony Ross Costanzo began his professional performing career at the age of 11. Since then, Costanzo has appeared extensively in opera, concerts, recitals, film, and on Broadway. 2012, Costanzo won first prize at the Placido Domingo International Opera Competition "Operalia". He is also the 2009 Grand Finalist of the Metropolitan Opera International Auditions. He received the George London Award, a career grant from the Richard Tucker Foundation, and was the first countertenor singer to win first prize in the Houston Grand Opera's Eleanor McCullom competition, where he received the Audience Award.Costanzo performed with Kabuki actor Ebizo Ichikawa in "The Tale of Genji" at the Kyoto Theatre in 2014 and 2016, and the unique collaboration of Western classical music and traditional Japanese Kabuki ended in great success and created a great buzz. Currently (2018), Costanzo is performing "The Tale of Genji" with Ebizo Ichikawa for the third time at the Kabuki-za Theater. Costanzo is a countertenor with a uniquely beautiful voice, and he has been active not only in opera, but also in collaborations such as this and on Broadway. This collection of arias includes works by Handel and Philip Glass, two of the most important composers of the Baroque and contemporary opera genres.
